The Love Family Reunion

Memories of Ashley Featherstone
and her family's connection
with Moore's Grove UMC

Ambrose and Eula Featherstone in 1934.

The Love-Anderson Reunion started in 1982. The first three reunions were held at Etowah Lions Club and Shaws Creek Campground.

In 1985, the reunion was moved to Moore's Grove United Methodist Church and coordinated by Lib Johnson (related to the Loves and Andersons) who continued to organize the reunion for a number of years; it has been at the Church ever since.  I have always believed that it was a result of the connection between my grandmother Eula Anderson Featherstone and my Aunt Anne Featherstone Clarke, both of whom were lifelong members of Moore's Grove (and are now buried in the church cemetery).  Eula Featherstone was a long-time Sunday school teacher at the church.

Our last remaining connection was Aunt Anne Featherstone Clarke and her husband Harry Clarke.

Aunt Anne (Eula's daughter) and Harry Clarke were married at Moore's Grove on Thanksgiving Day in 1946, and they were members until their death.  Several of their children still attend.

Pastor Deb and the members of Moore's Grove are grateful that the Love Family has continued this important tradition at our church for nearly 40 years.

May God continue to bless your beautiful family!
